Kinoumai Elektrika 3 has officially opened, with every electric car buyer in Greece now able to apply for a subsidy. How does the process work?

Kinoumai Elektrika 3, the program that offers subsidies in Greece for the purchase of electric cars, is officially open to accept applications.

We took advantage of the trial period and registered an application for Kinoumai Elektrika 3, so that we could have the same experience step by step. In fact, we submitted two applications. One was with a LTPF of 30,000 euros (retail price 37,200 euros) and the other with a LTPF of 25,000 euros (retail price 31,000 euros).

We did this because all electric cars with a retail price of 37,200 euros and above receive a subsidy of 9,000 euros. On the contrary, for electric cars priced from 37,199 euros and below, the subsidy is 30% of the LTPF.

First steps to apply to Kinoumai Elektrika 3

The first step is to enter the Kinoumai Elektrika 3 page, which we will find at https://kinoumeilektrika3.gov.gr/. Once the page opens, click on the blue box that says «Login to the service» and on the next page click on the same option.

The classic page of the General Secretariat of Information Systems will then open where we enter the Taxis codes in order to log in to our account. Click on «Login», select the circle that says "Continue" and press «Send».

A page will appear with our personal information such as Tax ID, First Name, Last Name and Father's Name. If it is correct, select "Confirm Information".

We entered Kinoumai Elektrika 3

After the above steps, we have entered the Kinoumai Elektrika 3 platform. The page we see says “Program Registration Details”. The application we made was for an individual purchasing an electric car and not for a company. Thus, we select “INDIVIDUAL” and fill in the remaining information.

When we have completed them, we click "Save" and on the next page «Submit a new application», unless it is a minor with a disability, in which case we select the phrase directly above.

Selecting "Submit a new Application" will open a page with two sections. In "Application Details" we do nothing as everything is pre-filled, we simply check their validity.

Let's deal with the "Vehicle Details" section. If it is a car, in the vehicle type we select "Car Passenger Car (M1 BEV)". We deal with the options just below only if we belong to one of the two categories. Otherwise, we move on.

In the field «Retail Price Before Tax» we fill in the RRP of the car we purchased. The company we purchased the car from will have informed us about the RRP and it will be listed on the transaction receipt.

The system will automatically calculate and display the amount of the subsidy. If we have made a withdrawal, we click on the relevant option, while if we also want to be subsidized for a Wallbox charger, we must select it. The last option that says "Battery" concerns microcars that have interchangeable batteries and include it as standard equipment.

Once we have filled in the fields we want click "Save", check the box "I agree to the terms of use" and "Next", in that order.

Registering supporting documents for Kinoumai Elektrika 3

This will take us to a page where we must enter all the relevant supporting documents of Kinoumai Elektrika 3. Proof of vehicle purchase, a document confirming the IBAN (this account will receive the money we will receive from Kinoumai Elektrika 3) and all the other documents it requests.

After each file upload we press ITS OWN button that says "Register". Of course, if it is a leasing or loan purchase, we also pass the corresponding files. If it is not a leasing or loan purchase, we do not deal with these options.

Clicking "Next" will display the "Application Preview". This means that our application is still temporarily saved. We check the correctness of the data again and click "Submit for evaluation".

After the application to Kinoumai Elektrika 3

We have now submitted the application. It will come to us at e-mail  font-weight: 700;">a unique code, with which we will be able to track the progress of our application.

IMPORTANTYou must have an account e-mail which we will declare to be someone we check frequently, because it is possible that we will be asked for some clarification or some other file. In addition to the inbox, let's also take a look at the spam (Unwanted messages) every 2-3 days.

The Kinoumai Elektrika 3 platform is quite easy and well structured, with clearly simpler procedures compared to Kinoumai Elektrika 2. However, because these are large amounts, if you think there is even the slightest possibility of making a mistake, you can always contact an accountant, a tax specialist or someone who deals with NSRF-type programs.
